Reliable, low hydrogen electrodes for general applications
For mild and low-alloy steels. They deposit a consistently tough, crack-resistant weld metal and achieve high welding speed. These electrodes are relatively insensitive to the base material composition. A general electrode performing well on a wide number of base materials, perfect for welding structures where high stress conditions cannot be avoided.
Low hydrogen electrodes for welding at AC/DC current
Increases the flexibility of using all types of welding equipment. Welding high recovery electrodes in AC current increases the deposit, delivers an excellent-quality weld metal with very good mechanical properties and self-released slag.
Exceptional, all-position electrodes
For critical applications requiring special impacts at low temperatures. They provide a smooth, stable arc with very low spatter. A MODERN FORMULATION
ESAB's next-generation OK 48.00 electrode improves on our already successful design. OK 48.00, now H4R, offers the same efficiency, mechanical properties and superior weldability in a modern formulation engineered to decrease moisture pick-up in high humidity conditions. Resistance to moisture absorption pick-up helps prevent hydrogen cracking and aids in elimination of porosity, especially critical in the offshore construction industry.
OK Series electrodes are available in ESAB's VacPac™ vacuum packaging for optimum protection against moisture pick-up without the need for costly rebake procedures or special handling. The safe exposure time is 9 hours* after opening the VacPac with the foil left in place.*Valid at standard AWS test conditions of 27°C and 80% RH.VacPac is simple and convenient to use, ensuring that the electrodes keeptheir "factory fresh," low-moisture condition until the sealed vacuum is released. When stored as directed, electrode shelf life is virtually unlimited. ESAB VacPac is approved by 3rd party societies for use in severe environmental conditions.
